Response From Your NJ Congressman Josh Gottheimer

Dear Mr. Butrymowicz, Thank you for contacting me to express your support for our wildlife and public lands. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

As an outdoorsman and conservationist, I share your strong support for preserving our natural resources and wild species. North Jersey is home to many forests, parks, and public lands stretching from the scenic Delaware River to the steep cliffs of the Palisades. We will continue the fight to maintain and expand funding to preserve our environment and protect natural habitats like the Highlands, the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, and the Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge.

Like you, I believe Congress should help conserve and protect even more public lands. That is why I was proud to help pass the Great American Outdoors Act (Public Law 116-152), which provides full, permanent funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) and addresses the approximately $20 billion maintenance backlog on federal public lands. The Problem Solvers Caucus, which I Co-Chair, officially endorsed this landmark conservation bill. In addition, we can commemorate the 105th year of the National Park Service by rededicating ourselves to the important work of preserving our parks for the benefit of future generations. Please know that as your Representative, I will continue to advocate for wildlife conservation and public lands and will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind.

Thank you again for contacting my office. Please keep in touch with any additional questions or comments by emailing me at https://gottheimer.house.gov/contact/.
